I have an issue where the internet drops when I plug the Ethernet in. As soon as I disconnect the Ethernet cable, the internet comes back on. Network settings show the Ethernet is connected (ruling out port failure) The Ethernet cable works in other devices (ruling out cable failure) I have power-cycled my router, switch, ATV and modem. Unplug your router and your cable or DSL modem from power. Then plug them back in. Use an Ethernet cable and check for software updates. If your Apple TV has an Ethernet port, try connecting your Apple TV directly to your router, or cable or DSL modem using an Ethernet cable. Apple TV connects to internet with either Wi-Fi or Ethernet. Try with an ethernet cable plugged into the WAN port of the AC66U_B1. I have had the same issue and doing it wired helps. The router still recognized the MAC address after a full reset so it wouldn't find it for setup. Once I "removed device" from the list of connected devices it is was able to find it for setup. L. Try manually setting your DNS in your router. Sometimes a DNS server is down and prevents a connection from completing. You can try 1.1.1.1 or 8.8.8.8. When you've changed it, reboot the router and try to connect again. Turn on IPv6 if it isn't already on. 6 If you don't see any activity lights on the port, it could be that the ethernet cable is faulty or it's not being supplied power. Try replacing the cable to see if the issue persists. Is the issue persisting? Since the router seems to be the issue, let's reset it and see if that fixes the problem. 1 Turn the TV off. Run the built-in network troubleshooter, located here: Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters. Select Run next to Network Adapter to have Windows attempt to identify and fix the issue. Reset the Windows 11 network settings. Doing this will delete and then reinstall the Ethernet adapter, and reset various network settings to I changed out the Ethernet cable and the Roku Ultra connected with a wired connection. I don't understand how this solved the problem b/c the replaced Ethernet cable works fine in other places with other devices. But hey, replacing the cable solved the problem, so I won't complain. Thanks. Also, try to reset the Ethernet Adapter: 1. Press Windows Key + I to open Settings then click on the Network & Internet icon. 2. From the left-hand menu click on Status. 3. Now under Status scroll down to bottom and click on Network reset link. 4. On the Network reset page, click on "Reset now" button. Step 1: Launch Windows Settings (check the 5th trick above) and go to Network & Internet menu. Step 2: Scroll down to Advanced network settings. Step 3: Find your Ethernet connection from the The ethernet port light on my router flickers accordingly, I factory reset my modem and router both, power cycled the xbox. Cat6, but the Xbox Series X's connection wildly swings between slow (around 9kb/s, you read that right) to the machine not recognizing that a cable's connected at all to then 500mbps for a second or two before losing Reset your router. To do this, power it on and then press and hold the reset button (somewhere on the router, you have to find it) for about 10 seconds, untill you see it all blinking. Then check you are using the right ethernet cables. You may already be using crossover cables instead of normal ethernet cables. Step 2: Connect Your Ethernet Cable to Your PC. Connect an Ethernet cable between your router or modem and the Ethernet port on your PC. If your computer doesn't have a built-in Ethernet port, try using a USB to Ethernet adapter instead. In most cases, you will connect to the Internet automatically. If it doesn't work, see some Powerline adapters need 1 at both ends, 1 at router, other at the device. If either should be powered off, locked up and needs to be power cycled, then you would not have a working connection. This is also true for a different type of connection called MoCa, which is networking using coax. Now that I tried plugging in an ethernet cable, it doesn't seem to detect it. The Realtek controller says "Network cable unplugged" The controller is visible in the device manager and the windows diagnostics says it is working properly. The same cable, when inserted in a different computer, seems to work well. Sadly the router is not recognizing either swtich on my network. Here is what I have done: 1) I power cycled both the router and the switches. 2) I updated the firmware on my router. 3) I checked both switches, and they have green lights to both the WAN ports, but none of the ethernet cables attached to the switches. .
